Our Sunday Visitor celebrated their 100th anniversary in 2012, in part, by donating 100 trees to the City of Huntington. Those trees have been placed all over downtown and along Old US 24. They are maturing and right now are in full white bloom providing a stunning east gate entrance to our city.
The Downtown Farmers Market, now in its third year, needed a decorative archway. Amick Welding, Huntington Sheet Metal and Doctor Construction teamed up with the City to make that important entry arch happen.
The old W & D/Lehman’s building needed to come down and it is! Huntington Rotary Club has stepped up to the plate and committed to raise $120,000 toward some amazing features like a four sides ornate clock, downtown fountain and flag feature. This gateway greenspace will be located at the south west corner of Jefferson Street and Park Drive.
Let’s keep moving Huntington forward together! Brooks
