In this election season, we’ve heard a lot about what some candidates are against. I’d rather talk about what I’m for.

  • I am for the continuing, thoughtful implementation of the City’s Comprehensive Plan.  Adopted unanimously by City Council in 2012, that plan is our citizen’s expression of their hopes and aspirations for the City of Huntington. It’s the people’s plan.
  • I am for operating City government efficiently and delivering City services effectively. I am for responsible use of resources, living within our means, and keeping tax rates low.
  • I am for fostering neighborhood pride, fighting blight, and raising the value of our homes.
  • I am for quality-of-life initiatives, including parks and trails, to attract and retain young entrepreneurs and business owners.
  • I am for fixing our sewers and keeping them fixed, and ensuring a healthy environment and healthy rivers.
  • I am for economic development in our City and keeping our industrial parks occupied at capacity. I am for City policies that encourage business investment and help maintain high employment.

There’s no mystery about what the Fetters Administration stands for, nor about specific plans for the future of our City.

When I announced my reelection campaign, I made it clear I’m not running against anything or anyone. I’m running for the love of Huntington.

I ask for your support in making Huntington the best it can be. I ask for your vote on May 5.

– Brooks Fetters
